2009:  YEAR OF FRUITFULNESS:  PROPHETIC WORD

Happy New Year, everyone!

Due to certain challenges, I know it has been a while since I last posted, for which I do apologize; but giving God alllllll the praise, glory and honor, all is well!  HE STILL REIGNS!

It’s a New Year, the year of fruitfulness; and because 2009 is the year of fruitfulness, during some recent intimate time with the Lord, I heard the following prophetic word spoken to my heart by Holy Spirit:

Your Word, O Lord, will not return to You empty; but will accomplish that purpose for which it was sent [Isa. 55:11].  Your Living Word, Jesus, did not return to You empty, but He accomplished the purpose for which You sent Him.  He was fruitful; and He continues to be the Vine, continually bearing fruit, more fruit, more excellent fruit [Jn. 15:2, AMP] as the Gospel of Jesus goes forth throughout the earth.

Your Word, O Lord, is hidden in my heart [Psl. 119:11]–both Your written Word and Your Living  Word; and because Your Word abides in me [Jn. 15:7], I must and will bear godly fruit.  The Seed [Jesus] lives and grows in me—and, with Him, likewise His fruit!

In being obedient to Holy Spirit, as the above is a prophetic word, it is shared to bring you edification, exhortation and comfort.  A word for you to, perhaps, print out and place in your journal or Bible to refer to on a regular basis throughout the course of the year to again edify, exhort [encourage], and bring comfort to your spirit.

Tough times are ahead; and although concerned, in Christ, we are not to be consumed but instead are to be encouraged by the Lord to be of good courage, for Christ has overcome the world (Jn. 16:33).  Works for me…how about you?

Selah! (pause and think calmly on that!)

Declaring godly fruitfulness upon and into your life,

Min. Yvette S. Ellington

Thank you for an excellent devotional! I am encouraged and inspired by this word which undoubtedly comes from the Throne room of God! Blessings!

  1. I have searched this website and found it to be a promising tool which will minister to people in need, who more than likely would not recieve teaching on Christian Sexuality.

Oh yea, Congratulation on the birth of your world wide writing ministry “The Overcomers Devotional”

  2. I’m sure you and/or Laneen answer this question but the main question that comes to my mind is: Once we are convinced that masturbation is a sin (defined as any behavior that misses the mark) – how do we overcome this behavior?

  3. Hi Marsha,

There is some great insight on getting delivered from masturbation on this post:

Question of the week: Are you a Christian who masturbates? Why or why not?

    Marsha:

I note that Min. Laneen has addressed your inquiry, directing you to the post “Question of the Week”. Notwithstanding such appropriate direction, the following comes up in my spirit in further addressing your question:

“Sin”, as you appropriately defined, is missing the mark…a wrong action. However, any sinful act or deed that is done habitually–with blatant intent–is “iniquity”. “Iniquity” is one’s actions that are perverse and justified by carnal reasoning; one’s heart (temperament, disposition, habits) being ungodly. The word “iniquity” (‘avon in Hebrew) is used to express how a human heart is not holy–not set apart, not perfect, not godly.

Masturbation (or any other sexual perversion) must be viewed as iniquity; and as it concerns true and effective deliverance, such differentiation must be established and acknowledged. Once that’s done, one can successfully walk through the deliverance process as outlined in the “Question of the week” and, in more detail through Min. Laneen’s book, “The Spirits of Sexual Perversion Handbook”.

I trust that I have adequately addressed your inquiry; and encourage any further feedback.

  4. Thanks for the clarification on the difference between sin and iniquity. No offense – I already knew this and wasn’t thinking about using the proper doctrinal term when I made my inquiry. I just need help understanding how to get free. Much is said to analyze the problem but little on solutions. I’m not looking for details just a few bullet points would be nice.

Min. Laneen mentions answers being on the site. I
did read a little something but not much. Reading Min. Laneen’s book is an excellent idea but maybe some folks don’t read well and anyway I’m just hoping for a few wise words of wisdom – not a quick fix but something that would be encouraging that yes, with the help of God there’s something you can do, today, to stop this perverted habit.

  5. Hi Marsha,

I wish I could give you just a few bullet points and feel good about it really helping you, but if you will notice I usually write detialed responses to people after they have a specific question because each person’s situation is so different. There are a lot of different factors to consider such as, whether or not a person is born again and to what degree, whether or not a person is married, whether or not a person has ever gone through any previous deliverance. I am going to attach “The Twelve steps of the deliverance process” I hope these twelve steps will help you. I feel that some more details about your situation would be advantageous though as it would help me stream line an approach that would be most effective for your specific situation. If you don’t want to discuss this on the blog, e-mail me laneenhaniah@victoriouslyfree.org . Or we can actually do telephone counseling for a small fee. Here are the twelve steps. Blessings to you :)

    Deliverance for the soul man
Step 1 – Confession/Acknowledgement: The very first thing that you need to do is to acknowledge within yourself that you have a problem. This step is about being honest with yourself.

Step 2 – Discovery: The second thing that needs to happen is the discovery of how demon spirits entered into your life. This is a very important step because it will give you the insight that you need to make sure those openings are closed forever. The four main entranceways for demons are: Generational curses, Involuntary exposure, Spiritual Wounds, Voluntary.

Step 3 – Renewing the mind: The mind must be renewed in order for change to take place. Our mind is the control center of our being. Feed it the proper information from the Word of God and by all means please keep it free of corruption!

    Deliverance for the spirit man
Step 4 – Confession/Admittance: After you have been honest with yourself and acknowledged that you have a problem, you need to be honest with God and admit to Him that you have a problem. Do not be shy with God; He already knows anyway; just lay it all on the table.

Step 5 – Penitence/Humility: Penitence is that next step after admittance. Not only must you admit your sins to God, but you must also experience brokenness and remorse over your sins. Penitence is about humility of spirit and there will be no deliverance without it.

Step 6 – Confession/Exposure: The third and final aspect of confession is exposure. This aspect of confession is about exposing your sins to an upright Christian. Do not forget the two reasons that you need to fulfill the exposure aspect of confession, 1) the protection of accountability, and 2) the power of intercession.

Step 7 – Forgiveness and letting go: Deliverance cannot take place if you refuse to forgive others because it will prevent Jesus from healing you. It will also cause your heart to be hard and embittered, making it impossible for the Holy Spirit to work with it. Finally, it will deny you God’s forgiveness of your sins which will prevent you from connecting and fellowshipping with Him.

Step 8 – Spiritual Warfare: Putting on your spiritual armor: Do not forget about the five pieces of your spiritual armor, which will be used to defend yourself from the attacks of the enemy: The Belt of Truth, The Body Armor of Righteousness, The Shoes of peace, The Shield of Faith, The Helmet of Salvation

Step 9 – Spiritual Warfare: Using your spiritual weapons: Let us also remember that God has given us mighty weapons of attack that enable us to go after the enemy and defeat him:
The Sword of the Word, The Power of Praise, The Power of Christian Fellowship, Praying and Fasting

Step 10 – Spiritual Warfare: Retreat and replenish: In every long war there are times when the warriors must retreat and replenish themselves. Do not forget to rest in the presence of God and be rejuvenated through true worship.

    Deliverance for the flesh man
Step 11 – Discipline of the flesh: Deliverance in the flesh man is all about discipline. Your body cannot control you! It is the sin nature of the flesh, which is the power of satan that causes you to sin. Fasting is the best way to learn discipline.

Step 12 – Walking after The Spirit: Once deliverance has taken place in your life, it must be maintained daily by walking after the Spirit. Deliverance is not a once and for all deal. If you do not maintain it, you can lose it. Remember to protect the gateways to your mind. Keep them free of all contamination, corruption and sinful influences by meditating on God’s Word constantly.

  6. Thanks Laneen,

Your response is just what I was hoping for.

  7. Oh!

I am so glad Marsha. I didn’t really know if this would help. Please let me know if you need any futher assitance.

    :)

  8. humm…Mark 4 – the Sower story is one of my absolute favorite. Thanks for teaching on it.
Someone made a comment that it’s interesting that 1 out of 4 or 25% of the “hearers” became fruitful. Could that be just about the percentages that we see for real? Maybe.
Like you say it’s true that Jesus was describing categories but the percentage angle is interesting to consider.

    Marsha:

Very, very interesting, indeed! Twenty-five percent, huh? Definitely worth pondering over this evening. Allow me to have a lil’ tete-a-tete with Holy Ghost during my commute home this evening (that’s when He and I have some of our best convos); and we’ll talk more about this tomorrow. O.K., Holy Ghost, we’re expecting to hear from You–our Teacher and Revelator!

  9. Hi Min Yvette,
These are the information you asked me to send you for the Encounter. August 15,2007: Salvation is rooted in mercy and not in merit. You are a gift from God. Self esteem is wrapped in salvation.
Thank you for your devotionals. I don’t get to read them every day, but when I am on the computer I find them to be just what I need for the day.
    Love Val

  10. Thank you so much for such a wonderful Devotional Yvette. I KNOW everything will work out for you, as they always have in the past. I will pray for you :-) !

  11. Lyne:

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement as well as for your prayers. Both are very much appreciated as you remember that God is not a respecter of persons. What He does for me, He will do for all who love and trust Him for all things work together for good to them who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. In other words, “That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” (Rom. 8:28, TMB) Grab a hold of this word, and you too stay encouraged, my dear sister…and all those who read this!

  12. Valerie:

Holy Ghost knows just what we need…and when we need it. We can always rely on Him!

  13. Oh how I agree with you.
What would you say to somone who believes – well we all worship God in our own way. I may not raise my hands, sing along or dance but that doesn’t mean I’m not worshipping. I worship quietly. I’m not the boisterous type. Do you agree?

Today’s devotional on “Hope” is excellent!. And I continue the trail down Hebrews 10 by adding to the scriptures already highlighted in the entry, verses 35 and 36 (New American Standard version): “Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.” Certainly if we maintain our focus and keep our confidence in the One who is the faithful promise-keeper, we will not only ultimately receive the promise but we will also see the evidence (fruit) of the Holy Spirit working in us: patience!

  14. Pastor Kym:

Glory to God for your “trailing down” of the Scriptures (smile) Our “need for endurance” is going from glory to glory–level to higher level in our faith in Christ; and with each level comes His greater glory; and in His greater glory, comes our greater blessings; greater victories; and greater degree of transformation. Ah, oh, I feel like preachin’! :)

  15. Marsha:

Thank you for confirming the prophetic word given by Holy Spirit.

In answer to your question, there is certainly a time when and where Holy Spirit has us enveloped in ‘quiet’ worship–a time in which He is speaking/dealing with us; hence, our need to be in a hush, if you will, and listen as well as receive.

Worship–the adoration, adulation, deifying, praying–to our Heavenly Father calls for an “outward” expression of what our spirit (inner man) is ministering to the Father. What immediately comes to mind is Rev. 19:4 when the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” Operative word, ’saying’…falling down (yet another action) as they worshipped. In our praise, in our dance, in our raising of our hands, through our musical instruments, as well as in our laying prostrate before the Father…ALL is an outward expression of our inner man to the Father. Is it necessary? Yes, and again I say, Yes. “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psl. 34:1) To “bless” is to speak well of. To speak…an open your mouth. To “praise” is to express a favorable judgment of…our praise and worship expresses our favorable judgement of God and Who He is.

“Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.” (Heb. 13:15) The fruit of “lips” that “confess” His name. Again, to speak…an open your mouth.

We lift our hands because we are free in Christ…and are not ashamed to let others know it! We lift our hands in sweet surrender to the Lord, because He arrested our hearts, and now we are free! Arrested yet free. Hmm, I ike it, Holy Ghost!

We kneel before the Father as a sign of humility. It’s an outward declaration that Christ must increase, while we must decrease. He must grow more prominent; and we must grow less so. (Jn. 3:30, AMP)

All of the above shared must be encapsulated into the motives and intentions of our hearts, for the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (Jn. 4:24); and when you are truly lost in His presence, which is what true worship brings, it cannot be concealed.

  16. Yes, yes, yes to your response.
I met a sister who told me she didn’t praise the Lord with any exuberant outward expression because when she was in the world she was wild and “out there”. I guess she didn’t want to be tempted to go back into the world.
First I think good, godly counsel is in order but secondly I believe my God is able to keep you from falling. The saying I didn’t stop dancing, I just changed partners comes to mind. Besides, the Wiord doesn’t give any exceptions to praising Him. There’s no footnote about well praise Him if you think it’s good idea for you. He says praise Me. Do it wild, do it loud, do it quiet, do it standing, sitting, laying, whatever … just do it.

More Than Conqueror people are able to look at the foe (the adverse situation, adversary, adversity) and command it to “Fall.” and, that enemy must fall and bow to Kingdom authority. For the word of God does declare in Phillipians 2:10, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”!

  17. After reading your latest submission I had a thought. Wouldn’t it be useful to have someone you trust and have an accountability relationship with you to write and discuss with us an “observed growth and year end counsel”. Wow – it would require such maturity from both parties and humility from us to receive godly words given in love. But it could really accelerate our growth – if we allow Holy Spirit to work on us.

This is a good meditation! The Word tells us that God ia “very present” (Psalm 46:1) This begs the question that since God is so available why are we so far from Him? 1 John 2:15-17 may contain the answer. Being distracted by or having a love affair with the world creates the distance between us and the Lover of our soul. Thanks for the “heads up,” Minister!

  18. Thanks for the encouragement.
It’s always a balancing act between trusting God to take care of things and being a doer of the Word. When you’re excited about the Father and have His heart you want to “do something” and just help out where you can. This is great however if you’re not careful you will begin to take the world upon your shoulders… and hey, we all know that doesn’t work.
I believe it helps when you consistently spend some time just loving on the Father. Not asking for anything, not praying for anyone else, not declarin and confessin… just being with Him. This really helps to keep me balanced.

  19. Great counsel !

  20. I was really blessed by your latest devotional -l “There’s Always Time To Make It Better”. I believe you exemplfied the type of growth and humility that is certainly not easy on the flesh – can somebody say ” crucify the flesh”.

You even noticed your growth in this area. The more we trust and obey the more we trust to humble ourselves as we exalt Him.

    Thanks

Right on time! Thank you for the exact “word’ I needed to share with a beloved sister! The Holy Ghost knows exactly what we need to hear and when we need to hear it!

  21. Now if this isn’t right on time. “There will be an increase in reports of illness.” The word will make the people aware that much of these reports are scares to measure their level of faith. Whether the illness is benign or malignant it is a test. A measure of faith. To take you through this place to be a witness. Our witness is what is most important to God.

  22. Thank you for always sharing your writings, they are a true blessing! Love Ya

  23. Great encouragement !
May I add that we are living in times when everything that can be shaken will…, the “suddenlies” of God, the Father shifting and straightening things out in His church (emphasis on His) etc.

My point being that what happened in this church is an example of the surprising things that will happen and God will use – therefore we all have to take the counsel you are giving this sister. We must accept that God’s test are meant to be passed, to rely on Him totally and expect the Father to give us His supernatural ability to always succeed. We must!

  24. Wow – this is really a timely “Word” for me. Chuck Pierce prophesied earlier this week that if we bow and humble ourselves before God He would save us from a hit from the enemy this week. Well you know how that goes. I read it and hoped that it was a “Word” for someone else. Who wants to know there’s an impending hit on the way. Well sure enough – that “Word” was for me too.

Now your devotional confirms the message. Thanks for hearing His voice. This song comes to mind “thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed :)

  25. Thanks Yvette for such an encouraging Word. I agree that we need to let God out of the boxes we have constructed. Man is always so tempted to make God in our image rather then just submitting to the Truth – it’s the other way around (we’re created in His image). Anyway I really love the movie Matrix and just knew that the creators of the movie must be Christians. I found out that they weren’t. The Holy Spirit spoke to me that He can speak through the unsaved or anyone when He chooses too. I mean God spoke through a donkey for goodness sake. So it’s so wonderful to experience God as He jumps through time, space (oldy but goody songs) and people to give us a personal, now Word. Yeah God !!

It would be great to hear comments from some of you out there.
